Bear in Heaven - Beast Rest Forth Mouth
Bear in Heaven is a project by Jon Philpot, this Brooklyn based indie band has since expanded into official four member band and have released an EP and two full length albums since 2003. The first EP by Bear in Heaven “Tunes nextdoor to Songs” was a collection of solo recordings by Philpot and various guest musicians. The first full-length album by the full band was released in 2007 and called “Red Bloom of the Bloom”. Their latest album “Beast Rest Forth Mouth” was released on 13th November 2009, changes have since been made to the band but this album is definitely the greatest work done by Bear in Heaven up until now. The album received great reviews and was also awarded as best new music by Pitchfork media so lets see what all the fuss is about.
Bear in Heaven have produced an album containing ten well produced and neatly perfected tracks. The ten tracks consist of melodic pop rhythms infused with a variety of electronics and various instruments. Lead singer Jon Philpot’s vocals resemble, the characteristics of a chameleon throughout the album, he manages to adjust his vocals to “blend in” and often “blend out” of the different tracks and their different beats. What Bear in Heaven managed to achieve with this album is a piece of work which can be appreciated as dancing music, driving music and background music which manages to fill up the room without being over Bear-ing… Pun intended. Impressive tracks include the first track “Beast in Peace”, the third track “You Do You” and also the seventh track “Drug a Wheel”. Overall this is an extremely fine album and will go great on any occasion.

Definition:
In popular music, independent music, often shortened to indie music or "indie", is a term used to describe independence from major commercial record labels and an autonomous, Do-It-Yourself approach to recording and publishing.
Independent labels have been known to strive for minimal influence on the artist they represent, avoiding the artist-cultivating behavior of many major labels.
